Program Length: 1 hour

WEBINAR SNAPSHOT: Attend this eye-opening webinar to explore the many different cybersecurity threats that are in play today and how you can mitigate their risks to your organization as much as possible.

Cybersecurity in the workplace is essential for employers who want to stay one step ahead of cybercriminals. Phishing attacks, ransomware, malware, mobile malware, WiFi vulnerabilities, data breaches and more are creating monumental problems for employers and costing them millions of dollars.

One such popular scam works like this: The bad actors identify who in your organization processes payments and then they gain access to that person’s e-mail account, generally through a standard phishing e-mail. The scammer then monitors the e-mail account over a period of time to identify high-dollar vendors. They craft a spoofed domain and impersonate that vendor (think accounting@ACB123.com), and then the target receives an unassuming e-mail from the “vendor” with instructions to remit future payments to a new account (guess whose?). The target continues paying the fraudster until you or your vendor realizes the mistake. This scam has cost U.S. victims roughly $1.7 billion in 2019—up 33% from 2018.

Not only do these attacks impact businesses, but also the customers who frequent your business. For instance, the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack in May. As a result of the cyberattack, the company decided to shut off gasoline supply to much of the Eastern Seaboard, resulting in shortages throughout the East Coast. That same month, an attack shut down the databases of a hospital system in San Diego for 2 weeks.  In June, an attack on a multi-national meat manufacturer closed off a quarter of American beef operations for 2 days, as the firm shut down its computer systems to limit the scale of the breach. And in August, Howard University was forced to cancel classes after a hack on their systems.

With experts predicting that cyberattacks will only continue to increase, you must understand the many threats in play today, which is also a critical first step in cybersecurity management. Join this webinar to learn best practices for managing cybersecurity and mitigating risks at your organization.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the computer threats employers are faced with
  • Implement suggestions for building a strong cyber defense
  • Identify ways to train employees against sneaky cyberattacks
  • And more!
