The ultimate goal of safety management systems and programs is to minimize risk and the associated costs of injuries and illnesses in the workplace. To reach this goal, you must identify and assess any risks and hazards to understand their probability of occurring, identify the likely severity of an incident, and develop appropriate corrective measures to reduce or eliminate these risks. Risk assessment is a fundamental tool for safety professionals looking for a systematic approach to identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating workplace hazards.

This risk assessment webinar will assist attendees in determining if their current efforts for identification, assessment and controls are effective. The risk assessment process may vary across organizations, ranging from simple qualitative assessments to complex quantitative analysis with extensive documentation. It is important for each organization to adopt an approach that meets its needs and effectively identifies and controls the risks faced by employees.

About Your Presenter

Frank SehnFran Sehn

Francis P. Sehn is the Principal Consultant for FxS Risk and Safety Consulting in Venetia, PA. He started his career in 1973 as a loss control consultant and spent 18 years with several major insurance carriers.

For the past twenty years he has worked as a Vice President and Senior Risk Control Consultant for Willis Towers Watson, where he provided safety and risk control consulting services for manufacturing, construction, institutional, service and supply chain accounts throughout North America. He has been a project leader for several Willis Blue Safety Management clients and was the lead for foundry client service for several years. Prior to joining Willis Towers Watson he was Manager of Safety for Washington Steel, a specialty steel manufacturer based in Washington, PA.

He is a member of several ASSP/ISO/ANSI standards including ASSP/ISO 45001 and ISO 31000. He was awarded the Safety Professional of the Year Award by the American Society of Safety Professional Council on Practices and Standards in 2019.
