Respiratory Protection: Protecting Workers in the Wake of COVID-19 - On-Demand

Webinar now available On-Demand.

WEBINAR SNAPSHOT: Join us for a webinar with Dennis Terpin, PhD, O.H.S.T, as he walks you through how to design, implement, and administer a compliant respiratory protection program following the disruption and uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the COVID-19 pandemic grips the country, safety professionals are faced with new challenges and questions about how to protect their workers. Some of the most common concerns relate to how providing respirators, surgical masks, or other face coverings would affect their compliance with OSHA’s respiratory protection standard.

Do companies now have to fit test, train, and provide medical evaluations for every employee wearing a cotton face mask? How should they continue to protect their workers from the respiratory hazards they face during the course of their normal work, especially in light of respirator shortages? And how will they be expected to comply with the extensive and overwhelming requirements of the respiratory protection standard going forward, especially in the face of the continued threat of COVID-19?

Use this on-demand webinar with Dennis Terpin, PhD, O.H.S.T, who will address all of these questions and many more as he walks you through how to design, implement, and administer a compliant respiratory protection program following the disruption and uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify what parts of the OSHA Enforcement Guidance documents relate to the Respiratory Protection Standard in healthcare and the general industry
  • Identify a risk-based hazards approach for aerosolized infectious disease applications, reuse, and extended use of Filtering Facepiece Respirators
  • Identify the physiological impacts of wearing Filtering Facepiece Respirators
  • Discuss the topic of Oxygen Saturation and Transcutaneous Carbon Dioxide levels of workers who wear Filtering Facepiece Respirators
  • Review the COVID-19 related changes that are necessary to conduct qualitative and quantitative fit testing as they relate to Appendix A
  • And much more!
