RecruitCon 2022

Wednesday, May 18 – Friday, May 20, 2022 | Denver, CO

CONFERENCE SNAPSHOT: Join us live for RecruitCon 2022 on May 18-20 in Denver, Colorado to learn the latest tips, tricks, and best practices for attracting and retaining the best workers on the market!

While 2020 was synonymous with COVID-19, 2021 will be known for the Great Resignation. The Great Resignation, also known as the Big Quit, is the ongoing trend of employees voluntarily leaving their jobs, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This trend really took off in the spring of 2021 and continues to remain in place today. What will the remainder of the year have in store?

Some experts are predicting that it will become the Great Rehiring. Employers are losing workers left and right, so it only makes sense that they'll need to fill the void. Does your company fall into the Great Rehiring category? And if so, are you prepared to source, screen, and recruit the plethora of talent that will cross your applicant tracking system in the months ahead?

The recruiting landscape has swung back into the candidate's favor, which means it's time to revamp your hiring practices, yet again! Join us for RecruitCon 2022—May 18-20 in Denver, Colorado—to learn the latest tips, tricks, and best practices for attracting and retaining the best workers on the market.

Our expert speakers will also discuss:

  • Ways to reduce bias in the sourcing, recruiting, and hiring process,
  • How conversational AI impacts the candidate experience,
  • How to automate your talent pipeline,
  • Ways to improve your workflow processes,
  • How to reduce recruiter burnout and improve mental health among your workers,
  • And more!

Into the Known: Leveraging Free Resources to Accomplish Paid Results
Presented by Brian Fink, Senior Technical Sourcer, Twitter

We won't list all the various tools and technology available to help you source and recruit top talent, but one thing they all have in common is cost. Utilizing various sourcing tools and tech can add up really quick, eating into your budget and reducing your chances of hiring the talent you desire.

As the costs of hiring tools and technology increase and their marginal returns decrease, there is more and more that can be done to find top talent by, instead, leveraging free resources that are built on top of these paid tools.

In this session, Brian Fink, Senior Technical Sourcer at Twitter, will begin with the fundamentals of search, teach you how to leverage open web techniques, and then how to engage with candidates where they do their best work.

Prepare yourself to:

  • Examine Boolean fundamentals,
  • Exhaust ALL of the free features in LinkedIn,
  • Dive into new professional networking sites,
  • Breakdown paywalls,
  • Pull results from the "dead Internet,"
  • Leverage free people search engines,
  • Use your iPhone and Android apps to discover profiles, and
  • Binge on free content!

Diversity Starts with the Job Post: 4 Creative Ways to Refresh Job Ads with DEI in Mind
Presented by Katrina Kibben, Founder, Three Ears Media

Want to increase your job post engagement with candidates from diverse backgrounds? Sure, but how? First, we have to change the way we've always done things. Job post strategies haven't changed in the last 100+ years, leaving us with 100-year-old biases.

This hands-on presentation will provide examples of why many job postings fall flat, particularly regarding inclusion, and four ways recruiters can refresh this content with inclusion in mind. You'll walk away with tactics to increase qualified candidate engagement by as much as 300%, and you'll reach many more qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds.

You'll learn how to:

  • Break the trends with better tactics for talking about skills and education in your job postings,
  • Avoid creating psychological barriers that send candidates from diverse backgrounds running away,
  • Recognize what works and what doesn't about your current job posts,
  • Hone your writing to improve response rates, including from those hard-to-find candidates and passive jobseekers from diverse backgrounds,
  • And more!

Partnering with Hiring Managers: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly
Presented by Jo Weech, Global Head of People & Talent, Clements Worldwide

We all know the standard problems—interview scheduling issues, feedback ghosting, "I want to see more candidates," and "We want someone young and energetic." Not many in talent acquisition have been trained on how to navigate these issues from a risk/liability standpoint, or even a "best practices" standpoint.

In this session, we will explore different challenges of working with a variety of hiring manager personas, and how to navigate through successful outcomes for everyone. Let us know your worst nightmares, and we will talk about how to turn stumbling blocks into steppingstones!

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Learn how to avoid risk and liability when being presented with potentially illegal requests from hiring managers,
  • Know appropriate responses to those requests while also still providing sourcing/recruiting support,
  • Coach hiring managers on how to manage the recruitment of their open roles (yes, that is THEIR job!),
  • Share best practices to everyone in the hiring process,
  • And more!
