Program Length: 1 hour

WEBINAR SNAPSHOT: Gas detection is important for anyone working in conditions that may have explosive gas, low oxygen, or toxic atmosphere. Learn everything you need to stay safe and avoid lethal outcomes.

Gas detection is important for anyone working in conditions that may have explosive gas, low oxygen, or toxic atmosphere. Gas monitoring is required for confined spaces and trenches, as they are especially hazardous.

Every year, workers are killed because they do not monitor the air before entering a hazardous atmosphere. According to OSHA, since 2017 there have been 13 worker deaths and 9 hospitalizations as a result of some sort of gas explosion in the United States.

When it comes to portable gas detection, device adaptability is key. Since hazardous gases can present themselves in a myriad of environments—spanning industries such as oil and gas, wastewater treatment, pharma, and chemical and fire services—portable gas detectors need to be able to identify a variety of threats.

This webinar will address everything you need to safely be prepared in the workplace and avoid lethal outcomes.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will understand:

  • How to select the proper gas detection for the task,
  • How Infrared (IR), Electrochemical (EC), Catalytic, and photoionization detector (PID) technology works, and
  • What gases IR, EC, Catalytic, and PID technology can detect.
