Human Factors and Behavior: Improving Your Organizational Culture with People-Based Safety - On-Demand

Webinar now available On-Demand.

WEBINAR SNAPSHOT: Use this on-demand webinar to learn the principles of people and behavior-based psychology to facilitate an ideal safety culture.

Each year, over 5,000 people are killed and almost 3 million people are injured at work in the U.S. Minimizing or controlling hazards, providing safer tools and equipment, implementing appropriate safety rules and procedures are necessary preconditions for an ideal safety culture, but it’s not always enough. To have a world-class safety program, it’s essential to examine how equipment, facilities, procedures, people, and organizational systems interact to impact safety and focus on the factors that influence at-risk behavior. Behavior-based safety (BBS) is the most efficient and effective way to address these interactions.

Use this on-demand webinar, with Steve Roberts, Sr. Partner at Safety Performance Solutions, LLC, where he will focus on the individual system factors that influence risky behavior, the principles of behavior and person-based psychology, hazard recognition and human error reduction, principles of safety leadership, and components of a successful observation and feedback process to help organizations achieve an injury free workplace.

You’ll learn:

  • Principles of people and behavior-based psychology to facilitate an ideal safety culture
  • How to increase empowerment, ownership and involvement in occupational health and safety
  • Critical steps for identifying hazard recognition traps
  • Strategies to predict and reduce human error and the importance of error tolerant systems
  • How safety management systems can drive positive culture change
  • The importance of safety culture assessments and how they can identify and drive improvement opportunities
