Understanding and Managing Employee Leaves of Absence in the Age of COVID-19 - On-Demand

Webinar now available On-Demand.

WEBINAR SNAPSHOT: Attendees will come away with a basic understanding of employee leave rights under federal law, including new leave rights related to the coronavirus pandemic, clear guidance on how to manage requests for medical leave under the FMLA and ADA, and a framework for creating and implementing compliant leave policies.

FMLA leave, sick leave, military leave, caregiver leave, bereavement leave, jury duty leave, voting leave, small necessities leave, domestic violence leave, personal time, vacation days—the list goes on and on!

Suffice it to say, HR professionals have an intricate maze of leaves to understand and keep straight—both paid and unpaid, legally required and voluntarily given. And it is your job to ensure that all types of leave are properly administered. This is no easy task, especially in the midst of a pandemic that has created even more leave rights for employees.

Use this on-demand webinar for an informative webinar about the most common types of employee leaves of absence, including leave under the new Families First Coronavirus Relief Act, and how to develop and communicate your leave policies to ensure ongoing compliance.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand what types of leave are required under federal law, and under what circumstances
  • Determine what types of leave are newly available to employees due to COVID-19
  • Identify how COVID-related leaves interact with the FMLA and the ADA
  • Ensure compliance with the documentation requirements of the FMLA
  • Manage FMLA and paid family and medical leave rights available in some states
  • Develop and communicate compliant and effective leave policies
