2022 Diversity Virtual Master Class: Getting Pronouns Correct—A Workshop to Help HR Become Better Allies

Tuesday, June 21, 2022

1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Eastern / 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Pacific Virtual

Program Length: 1.5 hours

In honor of Pride Month, we're excited to offer a new program that will help HR professionals become better allies with the LGBTQ+ community.

As we know, Pride Month is often known for its parades and rainbow flags, but over 50 years ago, the movement got its start following protests and riots led by transwomen of color in New York City. And while this movement still continues, now is the time for everyone, including employers, to put a dedicated focus on allyship.

A critical part of helping people thrive at work is creating a safe space to work. Even in supportive environments, many transgender and gender-nonconforming people can still expect uncomfortable conversations over and over again, sometimes every day. It’s everything from introductions to inclusive restrooms.

Let’s talk about pronouns, inclusion, and the actions you can take at work and in your community to become a better ally. Join Katrina Kibben (they/them) on June 21 as they explain how to properly handle pronouns in the workplace.

This intensive workshop will provide you with the tips and tricks to make your employees feel included and like they belong in your organization. And even more importantly, after attending this special event, you'll have the knowledge and knowhow to make the world safer for our LGBTQ+ community.

Attend this virtual master class and you’ll learn:

  • What pronouns are and how to appropriately use them,
  • Tips for practicing pronouns when you get them wrong,
  • Strategies to build belonging with simple behaviors,
  • And more!

Attendees of this virtual master class will also receive 60 day access to the on-demand recording.
