Safety and HR's Role in Combatting COVID-19: How to Work Together to Minimize Legal, Health and Safety Risks - On-Demand

Webinar now available On-Demand.

WEBINAR SNAPSHOT: Learn safety and HR’s role to combat COVID-19 and how to work together to minimize legal, health and safety risks.

With the war against COVID-19 waging on, organizations nationwide are faced with unprecedented workplace health and safety challenges.

Right now, safety and HR professionals are in “triage” mode and should be communicating frequently to coordinate their respective roles to keep the workforce safe and the company out of legal danger zones.

Use this on-demand webinar with Attorney Alka Ramchandani-Raj on the specific HR and safety challenges the COVID-19 outbreak presents, and actionable strategies for minimizing the risk of an outbreak running rampant through your workplace. You’ll also learn strategies for minimizing any legal risks that could arise from how you handle this situation.

After attending this webinar, you’ll be able to:

  • Address legal and practical safety challenges associated with a  remote workforce
  • Reinforce sick leave policies and confirm when you may require an employee to stay out of work when remote work isn’t a possibility
  • Communicate and educate the workforce on how the outbreak of a virus or other infectious disease can spread
  • Maintain temporary travel opt-out or mandatory travel ban policy
  • Recognize when the need for mandatory medical examinations and quarantines could arise without violating disability rights under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), medical privacy rights under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), or other laws
  • Reinforce common-sense health and safety policies to minimize the risk of your employees getting infected with COVID-19
