Avoiding Forklift Hazards: How to Minimize Accident Risks Through Comprehensive Training and Employee Accountability

Live Webinar: Tuesday, March 26, 2019

1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern / 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pacific

WEBINAR SNAPSHOT: Learn how to develop a comprehensive forklift safety program that factors in training, maintenance, inspections, oversight, and employee accountability to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.

On average, 70 workers are killed each year in forklift incidents and several thousand are injured. Common causes are the forklift overturned, struck something, or ran off the loading dock - or the worker was pinned between the forklift and an object, hit by a forklift or material, or fell from a forklift.

There are a host of potential distractions that could compromise forklift safety and it’s important to ensure that your forklift safety program addresses all potential issues. To mitigate the risk of costly and tragic accidents, employers must address the training of both operators and others working in traffic area, the ongoing maintenance and inspection of equipment, and operator and supervisor accountability.

Join us on March 26 for an in-depth webinar on how to master traditional and emerging forklift safety issues with a comprehensive, compliant program that addresses all facets of forklift management so you can minimize the risk of accidents caused by distracted driving, faulty equipment, and other issues.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Develop best practices for indoor and indoor-outdoor forklift operation
  • Apply practical strategies for addressing distracted forklift operation
  • Recognize what to include in your pre-operation forklift and inspection checklists
  • Adopt essential forklift safety-training strategies—and how to get supervisors involved in overseeing safe forklift operations
  • Implement OSHA compliant forklift maintenance and recordkeeping processes
  • And more!

And, as a bonus for attending, you’ll receive BLR’s Forklift Compliance Checklist and Forklift Tips for Inspection—a Safety Toolbox Talk!
