Safety Committees: How to Fine-Tune Your Program for Long-term Success - On-Demand

Webinar now available On-Demand.

Safety committees are challenging especially when the law requires them. Currently, 10 states make safety committees mandatory for some or all employers. Even in states where safety committees aren’t required, most safety managers have had experience with safety committees at some point in their careers. Sometimes they can create positive results, but in many cases, the benefits of a well-designed safety committee seem elusive.

If you are planning on setting up a safety committee program or looking at revamping your existing program, there are proven strategies that will result in a safer and more compliant workplace.

Use this in-depth webinar on-demand when William Coffey, CSP, CPEA, president of WRC Safety and Risk Consultants, will walk you through a safety committee development and fine-tuning process that can help you realize your expectations. You’ll get expert insight into how to develop a game plan so you avoid potential pitfalls, how to ensure that the senior management team’s expectations are satisfied, and how to make sure that your safety committee efforts do not fizzle-out.

You’ll learn:

  • The real value and ROI you can expect from a properly implemented safety committee
  • How to ensure that your safety committee fits into your overall management development program
  • Strategies for getting all levels of management, front-line supervisors, and employees actively supporting and participating in the safety committee process
  • The key parts of a fresh, effective, and comprehensive safety committee
  • Useful “do’s and don’ts” in safety committee design
  • Who should be on the safety committee and the typical terms for serving
  • Best practices and examples of effective safety committees in action
  • How to determine membership, role, and training strategies
  • Approaches for meeting structure and logistics
  • How to ensure that you’re effectively communicating the business and successes of your safety committee to all company personnel
  • Proven strategies to capture, track, and document employee safety committee “action items” to closure
  • Motivators to keep committee members interested
  • How to establish safety committees in a union environment and assure union support
  • Ways to periodically assess your process to determine ways to improve the program and address unforeseen barriers

Attend this event for a roadmap for assessing your existing safety committee program, identifying gaps and areas for improvement, and taking your safety committee program to world class levels!
