OSHA Inspections: How To Effectively Prepare For A Surprise Visit From OSHA

OSHA Inspections Webinar Recording
Considering whether your safety program is truly prepared for an OSHA inspection at any moment can keep even the best safety managers up at night. How do you make sure you’ve covered all of your bases?

OSHA’s requirements – particularly the sweeping “general duty clause” – can be daunting and complex, and an OSHA inspector has a great deal of discretion in the conclusions he or she draws about your workplace. Plus, even if you successfully contest a citation, you’re out both time and money trying to fight it.

What’s the best way to stay out of trouble in the first place? Join us for an in-depth webinar on how to get your workplace ready for a surprise OSHA inspection.

You'll learn:

  • The various types of OSHA inspections
  • What you need to know about the growing reach of OSHA’s National Emphasis Programs (NEP) and the upcoming “I2P2” standard
  • How the inspection process will unfold, step by step
  • What to have in place before the inspector arrives
  • Dealing with OSHA closing conferences and informal settlement discussions
  • How to manage the inspection process and make sure that all employer and worker rights are honored
  • The required process an inspector must follow – including when a warrant is required
  • When you should consider calling in legal counsel or a safety consultant
  • The things you should never say to an OSHA inspector
  • How best to handle requests for documents, including audit records and near-miss reports
  • Smart strategies for handling employee interviews
