The New Hazardous Waste Generator Rules were signed on October 28, 2016, went into effect on May 30, 2017 in a few states, and since have become mandatory in an increasing number of states.

These New Hazardous Waste Generator Rule was not enforceable in most states until they had a chance to update and modify their existing programs. That time limit is now up, and these new rules are now moving at a rapid pace to the state levels, and will become effective in numerous states by July 1, 2018. At that point, all states are required to meet the minimum of the intended federal regulations—which means if your organization isn’t already up-to-date on the latest requirements, your time get in compliance is running out fast.
