Confined Spaces for Managers & Safety Professionals: How to Safely Manage Entry & Rescue

Confined Spaces Webinar Recording

Every year, hundreds of workers suffer needless injuries, even death, due to inadequate understanding of confined space safety requirements.

Confined spaces are particularly dangerous because of the likelihood of noxious atmospheres and the difficulty of coming to the assistance of workers who are overcome. (In fact, it’s not unusual for the rescuer to become a second victim in the confined space.)

However, confined spaces are relatively safe if OSHA’s procedures are followed. Entrants and attendants have critically important responsibilities, but the ultimate responsibility rests with the person assigned as the entry supervisor. And who is responsible for making it all happen? Probably you.

Join us for an in-depth webinar that will explain not only the technical aspects of confined spaces, but also how to complete the permit process correctly, ensure proper training for attendants, and learn how to be prepared for rescue operations.

You and your colleagues will learn:

  • How to perform a comprehensive assessment to identify and classify all confined spaces at your facility
  • OSHA’s confined space regulations and requirements
  • The critical elements that must be included in a best-in-class confined space program
  • How to develop an effective rescue strategy that does not put the rescuers at risk
  • The three types of atmospheric hazards – how to identify them, and the best methods for testing
  • Confined space best practices, with a focus on supervisory, entrant, and attendant responsibility
  • Methods to consider to assure that your confined space entry and rescue training program is complete and effective
  • The confined space permitting and documentation requirements and best practices you need to know about
